FAQ

  • Are they food safe?

Absolutely. As long as there are no cracks on the interior of a bowl, plate, mug, etc., it is completely safe to use for food and drink. All of my glazes are lead free.

  • Are they microwave safe?

In my experience, yes. I would recommend testing your purchase in the microwave before putting any food or drink in it in order to avoid a potential mess. While the risk is very, very low, it may be a good idea to play it safe.

  • Are they dishwasher safe?

In my experience, mostly yes. I have had one report of a mug breaking in a dishwasher. Due to this report, I would suggest sticking to handwashing your purchase in order to avoid a potential breakage.

  • What if my order is broken upon arrival?

Travesties often have remedies. Simply reach out to me via email in the inquiries tab and I will address the situation. Due to my inexperience in the realm of packaging my work, I am bound to slip up and pieces will break. I will gladly send a similar item at no extra cost to you or simply refund your purchase (whichever you prefer).

  • Can I request custom work?

Of course. Requests are often times a great source of inspiration and innovation for me. Simply reach out to me via email in the inquiries tab and I will gladly consider your request. Commissions are limited to 20 inches tall and 30 inches wide due to my kiln’s capacity.

  • Can I request custom work with (insert color here) glaze?

Probably not. A massive amount of time and effort go into formulating and testing a new glaze. However, it doesn’t hurt to ask. If I get enough requests for a certain hue, I just might look into it.

  • Can larger orders be discounted?

While I am somewhat against the idea of “sales” for my work, I may consider exceptions for orders over $100 (before tax and shipping costs).

  • Why so expensive?

It was very hard for me to overcome the thought of monetizing my passion in the first place. If I am to eventually make a living off of my work. I unfortunately have to charge for it. For those who are understandably wary of spending $20-$30 on what seems to be a simple mug, for example, feel free to check out the “blemish” section of my shop for discounted work.

  • Why should I buy from you?

I’m no more deserving of support than the next person. That being said, every single piece I make has hours of my time and soul put into it. Although it’s difficult not to sound arrogant while attesting to the quality of my work, I feel the need to elaborate further. My work is not the same as the mass-produced pots you can find at a supermarket or corporate shopping center. Every piece is genuinely unique and contains a part of me. It’s up to you to determine whether that’s worth the price or not. I own a genuine passion for my craft; a fact that I think is evident in every piece of clay I manage to hone.
